Brendan Murphy - President
Brendan Murphy FCA, MCT has recently been appointed as Finance Director for the National Treasury Management Agency. Prior to this he was Group Treasurer for ESB, Ireland's primary electricity utility. His responsibilities included operational and strategic risks related to cash, debt, interest rate and FX exposures.

He had a separate responsibility for managing the risk associated with ESB Group's energy trading (fuel, CO2 and power) positions. Brendan has held a number of financial and trading roles in ESB.

Stuart Kirk  -  Immediate Past President
Stuart is Director of Xerox Corporation's Treasury operations in Europe, Middle East & Africa.

With over twenty five years experience in Treasury, Stuart joined Xerox in January 2004 from South African insurance group Sanlam, where he was Treasurer of its Dublin based subsidiary, Gensec Ireland. Prior to that, he held senior Treasury positions within Citibank, Ulster Bank and Bank of Ireland.

He has been a member of the committee since 2005.

Jimmy Doyle  -  EACT/IGTA Representative
Jimmy Doyle is Director, Treasury & Investments in Bank of Scotland (Ireland ). He has worked in corporate and bank treasury for about nineteen years and was previously Treasury Manager of Irish Life Assurance.

He is a commerce graduate of University College Dublin and is a member of ACT (UK). Jimmy is a founder member and former President of the IACT. He is a director of the European Associations of Corporate Treasurers and currently serves as treasurer to that body.

He is also IACT's representative to the International Group of Treasurers Associations. Married to Sandra, they have two children, Cliona and Conor, both currently studying at UCD.

His hobbies include reading, travel, fine wines, watching rugby and playing mediocre golf.

Patrick Corkery - Treasurer
Patrick Corkery is the Financial Controller of Vanfleet Transport, a leading distribution company to the retail sector. He has been with the company for 6 years. Prior to joining Vanfleet, he worked in financial services with KPMG.

A Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a Commerce graduate of UCD, Patrick was IACT Student of the Year 2007 for the DCU Graduate Certificate of Corporate Treasury

  Barry Dempsey – Programmes (Educational)
Barry is a treasury Manager for Greencore Group plc, the international convenience food company. His responsibilities include the management of Group debt, fx and interest rate exposure, and the banking relations. He has been with the company for two years. Prior to joining Greencore, he worked with Citigroup and Bank of Ireland Global Markets. He is a graduate of UCD.

John Gilsenan  -  Programmes (Social)
John Gilsenan is Managing Director of Porsche International Financing plc, the fully owned IFSC Subsidiary of Porsche AG, the renowned Stuttgart-based Sports Car manufacturer.

The Company is involved in cash management, inter-company funding, FX and interest rate treasury and captive warranty reinsurance.

He has been with the Company for 17 years, prior to that he worked with Ernst & Young in their tax and audit departments.

He is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, an Associate of the Institute of Taxation and is a UCD Commerce graduate.

Andrew Glover  -  Educational
Andrew Glover is Group Treasury Manager with Dublin Airport Authority plc and has over thirteen years of financial and management accounting experience, more recently specialising in corporate treasury management and major debt financings (Eurobonds, European Investment Bank (EIB) and bi-laterals).

A business graduate of Trinity College Dublin, he is a qualified accountant and also a member of the UK Association of Corporate Treasurers.

  John Sweetman – Website / e-treasurer
John Sweetman is a Portfolio Manager in Pfizer’s Dublin Treasury Centre, with eleven years experience working in financial markets. The DTC is involved in managing Pfizer’s investment portfolio, and intercompany netting and hedging programs. Prior to joining Pfizer, John held various treasury positions with a number of banks.

A graduate of both DIT and TCD, John completed the IACT/DCU Graduate Certificate in Corporate Treasury in 2002

Aidan Walsh - Technical
Aidan is a tax partner in the Financial Services Group in Ernst & Young Dublin. He has seventeen years experience in the taxation of financial services activities in a domestic and international context. His clients include some of the largest banking firms in the world; including, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Bank of Montreal, US Bancorp, Wachovia and Bank of America.

Aidan is an Associate of the Institute of Taxation in Ireland, a solicitor, has completed the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants exams, is a member of the Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers and has a diploma in corporate treasury from Dublin City University. He has published and spoken on the taxation of financial services in Ireland and other matters.

Brendan Glynn - Vice President
Brendan is Assistant Treasurer with Smurfit Kappa Group. His responsibilities include the management of debt, liquidity, foreign exchange and interest rate exposures. Prior to working with Smurfit Kappa, he worked with Ernst & Young in Dublin. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

Smurfit Kappa Group is the European leader in containerboard, solid board, corrugated and solid board packaging. It also has a significant presence in Latin America and a growing presence in Eastern Europe.

Adrian Farrell - Consultant to IACT
Adrian is a partner in the Banking and Finance Department of McCann FitzGerald, Solicitors in Dublin. He advises domestic and international clients on all aspects of banking and finance matters, including corporate borrowing, debt capital markets and structured finance. A law graduate of University College Dublin, he was admitted as a solicitor in 2000 and is a member of the Law Society of Ireland and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association. Adrian is a consultant to the committee of IACT.
